Reporting to the Manager, Gifts and Campaign Planning, the Stewardship Officer works with the Advancement team, employing an entrepreneurial approach to design, document, and implement a systematic and integrated donor relations program including leading all donor recognition events, developing donor recognition and naming policies that align with College policies, and designing and managing donor recognition opportunities throughout the College. Providing direction to the Advancement Analyst, Senior Administrative Assistant, Advancement and External Relations Consultant, and Strategic Communications, the Stewardship Officer ensures all donor records are kept up to date for Stewardship purposes and communications to donors are delivered in a timely manner.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Design, lead, and manage the implementation of a college-wide, comprehensive stewardship and donor relations plan that appropriately and consistently promotes meaningful interaction with, engagement, and recognition of, donors at all levels.
Lead the Advancement Team in the development of stewardship plans for donors at various recognition levels within the annual gift, major gift, planned giving, and strategic partnership programs
Identify and recommend best practices being developed at top institutions and applies these to create stewardship opportunities that enhance the donor experience and increases engagement.
Create and manage a system for reporting and engagement that includes impact reports, thank you notes, recognition events, gift announcements, updating of donor walls, and signage.
Oversee reporting to donors in a timely, consistent and accurate manner on the use, impact, and financial management of their gifts, with assistance from Development Officers, the Advancement Analyst, Senior Administrative Assistant, Advancement and External Relations Consultant, Strategic Communications, and applicable NorQuest Staff.
Lead the reporting of results to Donors. Prioritizes the production of annual stewardship reports, reporting includes annual Endowment fund reports, annual Shine report, bi-annual reports to award donors, and impact and progress reports.
Create and review contracts with external partners to acquire new resources for the College to improve its stewardship activities.
Promote stewardship engagement opportunities to academic units, graduating students, industry partners, alumni, campaigning donors, and volunteers to obtain potential speakers, mentors and new volunteers.
Lead identification, valuation, and tracking of all naming and recognition opportunities at the College, including facilities and program naming.
Create and manage recognition signage guidelines for the college, overseeing design and placement of new signage and donor walls, coordinating all approvals, installation, and updates for naming opportunities.
Oversee the creation of Briefing Documents for Executive and Board of Governors related to Donor naming commitments.
Review executed Donation & Recognition Agreements, manage all creation of actions into Raiser’s Edge and ensure accurate execution of all commitments.
Generate monthly Action reports and lead Advancement team members and Executive to ensure all actions are completed as required to meet donor commitments.
Collaborate with the Branding, Marketing, and Storytelling department to develop stewardship and donor relations materials, edit and update web content for Advancement.
Identify potential internal and external nominees for community awards, coordinating schedule of nomination deadlines, nomination forms for Director approval, and liaise with nominees.
WHAT YOU BRING
Diploma or degree in a related field.
3+ years of recent experience in a similar position that includes
Interaction with stakeholders such as alumni, donors and students,
Project management / leadership and
Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and processes
5+ years of experience in fund development, complex sales, or communications is preferred.
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
Knowledge of various fundraising streams including major gifts, planned giving, monthly donations, events.
Cross-departmental team leadership and supervisory experience, also a strong asset.

SALARY: $75,044 - $93,777 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
