CASA is a trusted non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally safe wrap-around mental health services to children and their families in Alberta. We do this through a team of specialized mental health professionals who are trauma experts committed to delivering outcomes-based programming in collaboration with community partners. CASA’s vision is a community where all children, youth and their families are provided timely mental health care and empowered to thrive.

CASA is currently looking for a development officer, community fundraising to join our Marketing and Fund Development team who will be responsible for supporting third party fundraisers and event organizers, as well as developing an acquisition strategy to build that community. This role will require the development officer, community fundraising to build strong relationships in the community and help to elevate our brand and reputation so supporters feel confident fundraising in support of CASA. The development officer, community fundraising will be an integral part of the event portfolio on the Marketing and Fund Development team and will actively contribute towards CASA’s five-year roadmap. Job Description

Reporting to the director, marketing and fund development, this role plays an integral part in providing support to third party fundraisers and event organizers, as well as developing an acquisition strategy to build that community. The development officer, community fundraising builds strong relationships in the community and helps to elevate our brand and reputation so supporters feel confident fundraising in support of CASA. Delivering a high level of service to our donors and stakeholders, this role is involved in meaningful events that engage our community and bring Alberta closer to our mission.

Duties include:

  • Providing support to third-party event organizers, including developing fundraising agreements and utilizing peer-to-peer fundraising tools to help stakeholders execute their events;

  • Developing and managing an acquisition strategy to grow the third party event revenue stream with yearly targets;

  • Developing impact analyses for each partnered event and sharing those impacts and learnings across teams;

  • Collaborating with a team to develop and manage an event calendar to be shared across Marketing and Fund Development, Communications and Senior Leadership teams;

  • Managing event budgets for each signature event;

  • Performing research and reporting;

  • Assisting the development officer, events, to execute on CASA events.

  • Salary: Currently under review

  • Hours per Shift: 7.75 Hours

  • Shifts per Week: Five

  • Days Off: Saturdays and Sundays. May require occasional weekends to support events.

Qualifications

  • Event management certificate, or an equivalent in years of experience will be considered.

  • Three to five years of non-profit event fundraising experience.

  • Ability to foster strong relationships with CASA leaders, volunteers and community representatives to promote fundraising priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a high-volume work environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Valid class five driver’s license.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising data entry.
