Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries
The AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter offers scholarships, awards and bursaries for members to increase their professionalism, knowledge, and skills by attending conferences, courses, and workshops relevant to fundraisers offered locally, nationally, and internationally.
Scholarship and bursary opportunities include:
Fundamentals of Fundraising Award
Value: Cost of one complete registration to a Fundamentals of Fundraising course hosted by AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter
Distribution: AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter will provide the award recipient with a refund of their registration fee.
Criteria: Awarded to an AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter member or a recipient who works within the Edmonton & Area Chapter region who plan to attend a Fundamentals of Fundraising course offered by the AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter in 2024. Visit the Education & Events page for the next course offering.
CFRE Refresher Course Award
Value: Cost of one complete registration to a CFRE Refresher Course course hosted by AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter
Distribution: AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter will provide the award recipient with complimentary registration OR a refund if they have already registered.
Criteria: Awarded to AFP members of the Edmonton & Area Chapter who are working towards completion or recertification of their CFRE designation and who plan to attend a CFRE Refresher Course offered by the AFP Edmonton Area Chapter in 2024. AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter Award – AFP International Conference on Fundraising
Value: $500
Distribution: Upon award distribution, you will be required to provide proof of payment for registration.
Criteria: All AFP Edmonton and Area members who have registered in the AFP International Conference on Fundraising. There is no limit on experience or past conferences attended. Award winners will not be eligible to apply for a period of two years following the receipt of the award.
Chamberlain Scholarship Award – AFP International Conference on Fundraising
Value: Full conference Registration (over $2000 CAD) + $1,000 in funds to offset other travel expenses of the recipient
Criteria: Candidate is employed as a fundraising professional or, if the candidate is in an executive position, a substantial amount of time must be devoted to fundraising. The candidate has never attended an AFP or NSFRE International Conference on Fundraising as a registered participant (unless as a member of the Conference Host Committee). Candidate must agree to complete an online evaluation form about his or her experience at AFP ICON. Only one individual from any local organization or institution may be selected.
