Communications Committee
The committee manages a program of publicity and public relations consistent with the aims and purposes of the Chapter. This includes, but is not limited to, a bi-weekly newsletter and daily/weekly social media posts highlighting Chapter and membership activities. They are responsible for promoting special events and education sessions to members and the philanthropic community.

Education Committee
The committee facilitates education and program offerings and ensures that common aspects of these portfolios are managed in a coordinated and efficient manner. This includes coordination of all Education, Professional Development, and Networking activities.

Government and Sector Relations Committee
The committee informs and updates the Board of Directors and general membership of provincial and federal legislation, which would directly impact the profession. This committee also develops and maintains relationships with key local and provincial sector partners to amplify our efforts and coordinate on key initiatives affecting the sector.

Revenue Generation Committee
The committee identifies and recruits prospective financial or in-kind sponsors to support the activities and goals of the AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter.

Membership Committee
The committee solicits and encourages membership in the Chapter through thoughtful recruitment, meaningful engagement and relationship building while working towards achieving chapter membership goals.

National Philanthropy Day Committee
The committee leads, plans, and conducts the annual November activities to coordinate with the global observance of National Philanthropy Day. National Philanthropy Day is about recognizing the great contributions of philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—to the enrichment of our world.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access (IDEA) Committee
AFP is committed to promoting an inclusive, equitable and accessible organization where every member, volunteer, staff and board member can realize their potential and their contributions are valued. The IDEA committee is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for this commitment to be realized and as such is an integral part of the Nominating Committee.
