The 1000 Women is a movement comprised of committed, powerful, and compassionate women striving to remove barriers to education through providing the support necessary for learners to start and complete their education.
Our current campaign – 1000Women4STEM – is working to raise $3 Million to help improve access to STEM programs, contributing to the equity, inclusion, and diversity of the industry with impact to talent, drive, and discoveries.
Reporting to the Manager, Gifts and Campaign Planning, the 1000 Women Campaign Lead Development Officer supports the ongoing growth of the 1000 Women Campaign, achieving fundraising goals set out in the Business Plan through development and implementation of donor growth and retention strategies and data analysis.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Manage and develop a portfolio of major gift and sponsorship prospects, at various stages of identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Prospects include individuals, corporations and other foundations.
Develop systems and mechanisms for donor renewal and upgrading.
Provide regular reports on all prospective 1000 Women donors, donor contacts, and activity to the Manager, Gifts & Campaign Planning.
Write gift proposals, grant proposals, sponsorship solicitation packages, and other relevant fundraising and communication materials and scripts for the 1000 Women Campaign.
Manage donor portfolios related specifically to the 1000 Women campaign.
Achieve revenue, prospect and donor activity targets.
Lead the development and execution of the fundraising, communication and event plans for the 1000 Women Campaign.
Work both independently and in collaboration with the 1000 Women Campaign Committee, faculty, staff, College Executives, and volunteers in securing gifts and sponsorships for the 1000 Women Campaign.
Participate in training programs for the 1000 Women Committee, volunteers, and staff involved with cultivation and solicitation activities.
Provide mentoring to development staff, 1000 Women Committee, and volunteers.
Liaise between 1000 Women Committee, Executive, and Advancement.
Lead and organize all 1000 Women Committee meetings and committee activities in collaboration with the 1000 Women Committee Chair and Vice-Chair.
Work collaboratively with the Event Coordinator and Donor Relations Consultant on designing and implementing fundraising and engagement events in support of the 1000 Women Campaign.
Meet and call key 1000 donors to update on College news, events and status of donations / campaign.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
5+ years’ experience in a similar position including major gift fundraising, sponsorship solicitation, interaction with stakeholders such as alumni, donors, and students, project management, and knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and process.
Working knowledge of information systems (e.g. Raiser’s Edge NXT, iWave).
Experience in various types of prospect research, stewardship, planned giving, and communications.
Experience leading a committee or volunteers is an asset.
Working knowledge of post-secondary education is an asset.

Some travel and availability outside of normal business hours necessary to fulfill obligations of the position.
SALARY: $85,808 - $107,290 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
