Fund Development and Community Engagement Coordinator
Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Alberta Provincial Council (UCC-APC)
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 - Salary negotiable based on qualifications and experience
Working collaboratively with the Executive and Board members as well as volunteers and team members, the coordinator is responsible for the advocacy, engagement, planning, coordinating and facilitating fund raising events to the raise the profile of UCC-APC. The coordinator will bring innovation and a public relations lens to heighten awareness and the need for humanitarian aid for Ukrainian Newcomers and support for those remaining in Ukraine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the president, the coordinator supports the development, day to day operations and execution of UCC-APC and related events. The coordinator is responsible for increasing opportunities through novel and innovative approaches with community organizations as well as cultivating long term relationships. Through these events and relationships the Coordinator will raise funds to support the ongoing development and delivery of projects and services to aid Ukrainian newcomers and those remaining in Ukraine.
The duties include but are not limited to:
Promoting the organization’s profile and mission
Working collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to create goals and expectations on an annual basis
Works closely with the UCC-APC president and board to develop and execute all aspects of the planned and related events
Provide on-site and off-site assistance for events including but not limited to:
Participation in event meetings and meeting preparation
Preparation of event materials, registration lists, volunteer lists
Logistics coordination such as décor, audio visual needs, catering, venue lay out, signage, event promotion
Volunteer and community member recognition
Develop marketing plans, budget estimates and timelines in conjunction with stakeholders
Implement innovative and successful fundraising concepts to increase event registration and participation
Develop and cultivate strong business, community and volunteer partnerships
Identify new corporate and agency partners and promote UCC-APC through contact and presentations.
Market fund-raising opportunities at community programs and events
Track donations and reporting
Review all budget requirement for events to ensure all financial goals are met
Creating a Fundraising & Stewardship strategy to increase UCC-APC revenue.
Participate in face-to-face fundraising events to bring awareness to potential sponsors about need of funds for Ukrainian community
Encourage and inspire people to become monthly donors
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of best practices and trends in fundraising , including legacy giving to the UCC-APC
Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files. Maintain and expand a database of potential sponsors.
Qualifications:
Minimum post-secondary education with at least 1 to 3 years fundraising experience in a not-for-profit environment. Equivalent education or experience may be considered.
Event Management certification is an asset
Fundraising and Fund development education is an asset
Experience in marketing and/or public relation is an asset
Strong leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills are required
Excellent organizational and communications skills are required both written and verbal, including presentations
Ukrainian language knowledge and fluency is an asset but not required.
Attention to detail required
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize activities, to ensure deadlines and goals are met
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.
Represents UCC-APC in a professional manner and treats all encounters with respect and tact
Access to transportation as local and provincial travel may be required
Ability to work as a positive team member and facilitate team development amongst staff and volunteers
Ability to be resilient in the face of challenges and setbacks
Public speaking skills are required for large and small groups
Maintains timely and accurate files. Experience using the CIVIE database platform is an asset
Working Conditions:
Primarily office environment and on-line capability
Some travel may be required for events and speaking engagements
Hours of work are primarily Monday to Friday from 9 to 4 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required for events and to meet with community organizations and donors
Salary negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
