Innovate Edmonton is the public face of Edmonton’s urban innovation ecosystem as we engage with communities, leaders, founders, and funders to seek out problems, solutions, participation, and talent!

Your Opportunity:
• Implement and manage our sponsorship and fundraising campaigns, including a placemaking campaign for our downtown innovation destination.
• In collaboration with the Leadership team set funding priorities.
• Develop a phased, multi-year strategy and implement a sponsorship and corporate giving program.
• Conduct research on individual and corporate funding prospects.
• Develop and implement a sponsorship activation program.
• Source, manage and foster a relationship with our portfolio of partner and sponsors.
• Working with the marketing team develop all communication materials as required.
• Actively engage with prospects and generate sponsorships and donor dollars.
• Actively manage the activations of each sponsorship to ensure sponsorship fulfillment.
• Manage long term donor relationships and develop a recognition program for all sponsors and supporters.

Your Key Accountabilities:
• Meet the placemaking sponsorship and corporate campaign targets.
• Meet the yearly sponsorship and corporate donation goals.
• Develop key corporate and community relationships.
• Develop a year over year strategy for revenue generation.
• Attain the yearly revenue generation goal.

Your Credentials:
• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience and a proven record of success in raising funds from corporate partners.
• Knowledge of Fundraising Code of Ethics required
• AFP membership preferred
• Experience developing, implementing and/or operation of a successful capital campaign and of year-over-year and project sponsorship programs.
• Evidence of sourcing, securing, and cultivating multi-year, 6-figure donations and/or sponsorships from a diverse array of marketing and philanthropic relationships.
• Evidence of strong network in the Edmonton region
• Demonstrated, well developed influencing, negotiating and sales skills
• Demonstrated skills in finance related to campaigns and sponsorships with a comprehensive understanding of budgets and reporting
• Demonstrated abilities in strategic planning and problem solving
• Demonstrated abilities to work as a team player
• Demonstrated ability and interest in working with and for diverse populations
• Experience working in a politically sensitive environment
• Proven relationship builder, attuned to donor and sponsor interests and needs
• Outstanding writer and packager, with a track-record in creating compelling fundraising materials
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Strong presentation and networking skills
• Fully literate in Word, Excel, and one or more customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
• Outgoing, inclusive, and welcoming in nature
• Resourceful, motivated, and energetic
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
