Chief Executive Officer (Location: Vancouver)
BC Women’s Health
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000
The BC Women’s Health Foundation (BCWHF) stands as the province’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the full spectrum of women’s health. Driven by its four pillars of strength, the Foundation prioritizes investing in capital and equipment, research and innovation, education and awareness, and advocacy. By connecting the generosity and aspirations of donors with the people and organizations that want to make a change, the Foundation works to ignite change, inspire agency, and ensure women have equitable access to the highest quality healthcare.
Following the departure of a successful CEO who, along with her team, has increased the profile and impact of the organization, an opportunity exists for a successful and thoughtful leader to steward the Foundation in this next phase of its evolution.
The Foundation’s next CEO will bring a strong focus in terms of continuing to grow the assets with which to impact women’s health and ensure that related resources go where they are most effectively deployed. Importantly, as part of this work, the CEO will build on existing relationships and engage new voices and decision-makers in the work of fortifying access to healthcare. The new CEO has a unique opportunity to ensure, as part of this next chapter, that the practices of the Foundation create more meaningful space for marginalized groups.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated a deep commitment and passion for engaging a community in the support of a worthy cause through or unpaid work. This individual will have played a senior leadership role in the non-profit, health, policy, or education sectors, where relationship building skills and partner development is in evidence. Alternatively, you are a regarded business or community leader with the drive and ambition to leverage success and the motivation to meaningfully give back. Entrepreneurial and service-oriented in nature, the next CEO will bring exemplary advocacy and communication skills and an immaculate reputation. As a mature and experienced people leader and manager, this individual will have had Board exposure in the past, and ideally fund development experience.
The BCWHF’s next CEO will have an opportunity to bring strategic vision, progressive practices, and innovation to an organization with a cohesive and supportive Board, a proud past, a strong reputation, and an even brighter future. Leading a small and capable executive team, the CEO will be poised with a rare opportunity to impact women’s health in a broad and material way.
