Salary: $55,000 - $60,000


CASA is a major community-based provider of mental health services for infants, children, adolescents and their families within greater Edmonton and from Central and Northern Alberta.

We are currently seeking a creative and strategic fund development professional with event management experience to join our team as a full-time Development Officer, Events. Do you have knowledge in fundraising, engaging the community and businesses, fulfilling sponsorships and have a passion for stewardship? This position is just for you!

In this position, you will play a key role in providing support to third party event organizers, as well as developing an acquisition strategy to build that community. You will be the main liaison with our event planners for CASA’s signature events and be the CASA representative on the community committees that help inform the planning of those events. The Development Officer, Events is also responsible for sponsorship opportunities and fulfillment, planning of other stakeholder events, like donor appreciation events. Delivering a high level of service to our donors and stakeholders, you will be involved in fun and interesting projects that engage our community, thank our donors and bring Edmonton and northern Alberta closer to our mission.

Responsibilities

• Works with our contracted event planners, coordinating internally to help execute on CASA’s signature events ensuring effective administration and sound fiscal management of program goals and objectives.

• Provides support to third party event organizers, including peer to peer fundraising tools to help them help us.

• Develops and manages an acquisition strategy to grow the third party event revenue stream with yearly targets.

• In collaboration with other team members, helps develop an annual special events plan and calendar.

• Corporate engagement.

• Will conduct a sponsorship inventory and asset inventory to determine potential sponsorship and naming opportunities. Manages sponsorship fulfillment in collaboration with Communications team.

• Acts as an ambassador for CASA at events where appropriate (both signature and third party).

• Supports CASA volunteers involved in special events.

• Manages the Benevity page for CASA, keeping it up to date with engaging marketing content.

• Stewardship and cultivation of third party event donor pipeline.

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three to five years of event fundraising experience. Sponsorship experience with a marketing angle, an asset.

• Requires some tech savvy in order to support online peer-to-peer fundraising pages.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising data entry.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a high volume work environment.

• A self-starter with a growth mind-set and always solutions-focused.

• Desire to be an ambassador for the mission and display a high degree of diplomacy.

• Clear and current Criminal Records Check.

• Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 prior to start date.
