The Faculty is unique in both its academic breadth and geographic scope, offering programs on both of UBC’s campuses (Okanagan and Vancouver) and programs in four departments, the School of Kinesiology and the Okanagan School of Education. The Faculty has identified the following priority areas for faculty: Indigenous Education, Mental Health Literacy, Sexuality and Gender Inclusive Education, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization, Climate Justice, and Supporting Returning Veterans.
Assistant Dean, Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) will be responsible for leading the execution of the long-term strategy for Development & Alumni Engagement in the Faculty of Education. While spearheading a multi-year fundraising campaign in support of the Faculty, the Assistant Dean, DAE will manage a development program at the $3+ million per annum level and contribute to university-wide fundraising initiatives. The Assistant Dean, DAE, reports dually to the Dean of the Faculty of Education and the Executive Director, Development, and will cultivate relationships with academic and administrative leaders to deliver on fundraising priorities and lead the Faculty alumni engagement strategy. The strategy will engage over 17,000 alumni annually, to build lifelong connections to the Faculty of Education and its academic and research mission, strategic priorities and role in the community.

The ideal candidate will bring considerable depth of experience in fundraising, strategy development and, inclusive behaviour and practices. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, discretion, and sound judgment are required.
