Salary: $47,000 - $60,000 - Salary is negotiable based on experience and education


Edmonton Meals on Wheels is a local non-profit agency that provides home-delivered meals, related food services and social connections to a diverse mix of people. We’re well known for exceptional food services and creative, innovative strategies that engage the community in various events, partnerships and volunteer opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Are you a person who is energized by building purposeful partnerships and creating a sense of community? Do you enjoy exploring and creating innovative fundraising opportunities? We have an exciting, full-time, opportunity for a motivated Fund Development Lead. This outgoing professional must be organized and committed to engaging others in the mission of Edmonton Meals on Wheels. We are seeking an individual with progressive experience in the areas of fundraising, sales, marketing, public relations and who can successfully coordinate multiple projects at once while meeting tight deadlines. The successful candidate will lead diverse range of projects including donor/community engagement, event planning, grant and other writing opportunities.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exceed annual fundraising goals by stewarding relationships and managing innovative partnerships

  • Engage stakeholders - corporate groups/individuals

  • Research new fundraising opportunities and bring innovative, energizing ideas to life

  • Seek/build new, and maintain current partnerships with a variety of donors, community and corporate groups

  • Lead the acquisition and integration of a new donor management software system

  • Manage media and government relations; act as a media spokesperson

  • Strategically plan, prepare, manage and evaluate direct mail, online giving and annual giving initiatives

  • Manage the creative design and content of agency publications, website and social media.

  • Craft grant proposals of all types to support organizational sustainability

  • Lead the acquisition, growth and retention of corporate and community partnerships, including overseeing a positive experience for corporate volunteers and other volunteer groups

  • Track and report on relevant departmental metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field with 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership and industry responsibility. Equivalent work experience accepted.

  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 and social media platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience with strong persuasive writing skills focused on complex grant applications

  • Ability to compile data/metrics and use it to tell our organization’s story

  • Organized, excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects under tight timelines

  • Creative, positive and outgoing team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude

  • Schedule flexibility based on events and engagement opportunities

  • Security clearance for the vulnerable sector and acceptable class five driver’s abstract

  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance for work purposes

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Annually $47,000 to $60,000. Negotiable based on experience with a full extended health benefit plan plus RRSP employer contributions.
