Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 - Salary is negotiable based on experience and education

The Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) has been an animal welfare leader in the Edmonton community since 1907. We strive to be a model of excellence in the advancement of animal welfare and to lead the movement in creating a more humane world. EHS is a safe haven for thousands of homeless animals each year, providing veterinary treatment, behavioral rehabilitation, care, enrichment and rehoming. Beyond animal sheltering, we engage with the community through various programs and services to support happy, lifelong bonds between people and pets.
Who We Are Looking For:
You have a passion for growing donorship participation and maintaining connections. You are an ambassador for community support and maintaining stewardship in donor and community relationships.
What You Will Do:
Individual Giving and Donor Development
Determine overall direction, strategy and new initiatives for increased donor participation and stewardship
Research and identify best practices and trends in individual giving and donor development and implement these strategies to meet overall department goals
Ensure donor database (Raiser’s Edge) data entry is updated regularly including address and giving information, prospect stages, proposals and contact reports
Planned Donor Giving Development
Develop strategy for identification and implementation of Planned Giving approach
Gather data, assess prospects, and develop comprehensive long-range and short-term strategies designed to realize current planned and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects.
Provide support at an organizational and operational level to provide support in multiple ways such as supporting awareness and communications initiatives
Donor naming Opportunities and Growth
Research and identify current and future naming opportunities for increased revenue streams
Produce and standardize naming convention opportunities to streamline organization documentation
Donor Stewardship
Lead donor stewardship for gifts $1000+
Identify and implement plans for increased donor stewardship
What You Bring:
A certificate, diploma or degree in a related field (fund development, business, marketing, communications, public relations, social sciences.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit with proven track record in fund development and stakeholder relations
Knowledge, experience or training in donor relations, fundraising and sponsorship, and event management is an asset as is familiarity with a donor database such as Raiser’s Edge.

Compensation & Hours:
EHS offers a competitive not-for-profit compensation package which includes a comprehensive benefits package, and a strong work-life balance.
40 hours a week; however, is expected to work hours as required to fulfill department responsibilities. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
