Salary: $84,749 - $105,965 depending on experience.

Reporting to the Manager, Gifts and Campaign Planning, the Development Officer analyzes data, develops and implements annual donor growth and retention programs, and contributes to the annual fund development activities within the department working towards the shared achievement of the fundraising goal set in the annual Business Plan.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE 

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of prospects and donors, at various stages of identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Prospects include individuals, corporations, and other foundations.

  • Develop systems and mechanisms for donor renewal and upgrading.

  • Develop a “one to many” annual fundraising campaign in support of College fundraising initiatives.

  • Provide regular reports on all prospective donor contact and activity to the Manager, Git & Campaign Planning.

  • Conduct donor prospect research using various research tools and strategies with assistance from the Advancement Analyst.

  • Write proposals, solicitation packages, sponsorship packages, and other relevant communication materials and scripts.

  • Develop and coordinate campaigns (Annual Campaign, SHINE, Awards, Micro Campaigns) and manage donor portfolios related to the campaign.

  • Develop strategy for monthly giving support for micro Campaigns in market including 1000 Women and future campaigns.

  • Work both independently and in collaboration with faculty, staff, College Executives, and volunteers in securing gifts.

  • Participate in training programs for volunteers and staff involved with cultivation and solicitation activities.

WHAT YOU BRING 

  • Diploma or degree in a related field.

  • 3+ years of recent experience in a similar position that includes: interaction with stakeholders (such as alumni, donors and student, project management, and knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and processes.

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is an asset.

WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER? 

As a difference maker you bring: 

  • Excellent communication skills, projects management skills, and a working knowledge of current educational issues.

  • Working knowledge of information systems to ensure technology needs for development are met (Raiser’s Edge NXT. iWave).

  • Proficiency in a variety of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Experience in various types of prospect research, stewardship, planned giving, and communications.

  • Proven track record in creating collaboration within an organization.

  • Working knowledge of post-secondary education is an asset.

  • Knowledge of fund development best practices and industry standards.

  • Knowledge of FOIP.

  • A valid driver’s license and availability outside of normal business hours necessary to fulfill obligations of the position with some travel required.

SALARY:  $84,749 - $105,965 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
