Fund Development Manager
Free Play for Kids Inc.
Salary: $55,000 - $120,000
Free Play for Kids is looking for an energetic, strategic and engaging Fund Development Manager to support our mission of providing vulnerable kids with the opportunity to play in a safe, accessible and inclusive environment. This role will be directly responsible for identifying, pursuing and leading revenue generation and diversification opportunities with the goal to secure $1.5 million dollars per year in funding.
This results-driven community-oriented leadership position acts as a critical ambassador for the Free Play brand by building and enhancing positive relationships with program partners to align with the organization’s strategic goals.
Education & Qualifications
• Degree or diploma in Commerce, or equivalent.
• Proven track record of success in business/fund development, fundraising, sponsorship and sales is strongly considered an asset.
• Proven track record of securing large private and corporate donations for $1-2 million budgets.
• Proven track record of engaging with and supporting donors and corporate sponsors to ensure their needs and goals are met.
• Experience with peer-to-peer online fundraising platforms is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with GSuite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office software.
• Representative of the community that Free Play serves.
• Experience playing sport recreationally or competitively is considered an asset, as well as understanding the power of sport as a tool for social good.
• Clear Criminal and Vulnerable Sector check.
Responsibilities
• Identifying, pursuing, securing and stewarding new market opportunities within the community on a continuous basis for growth of sponsorships, donations (major gift, cash and in kind) and other revenue generating initiatives.
• Managing numerous external relationships including engagement, proposal development and ongoing communication.
• Implementing entrepreneurial fund development, sponsorship and revenue generating initiatives with the goal of raising $1.5 million revenue per year.
• Developing and evaluating key metrics for fund development success including sales pipeline and targets.
• Leveraging and enhancing Free Play’s existing network of program partners to support the organization’s overall mission and strategy.
• Growing peer to peer fundraising opportunities by creating and managing campaigns and special events.
• Collaborating with the Free Play team to coordinate delivery of engagement initiatives that align with organization brand, strategy, programs and operations.
• Setting up processes to track relevant information and progress for funding “pipelines”.
• This position will evolve over time, based on initiatives and objectives identified in Free Play’s strategic plan and vision.
• In addition to normal duties, from time to time there may be work assignments arising from special events, special projects, or overall program initiatives.
• As an ambassador of Free Play, model key organization values through interactions with all internal and external partners and team members.

Position Conditions
• This is a full-time position performed in an office at a rec centre environment, but work setting and schedule may vary slightly depending on projects, including remote work as needed.
• Compensation is based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. A commission based compensation structure may be considered.
